Casino Bonus Wagering Calculator

Enter a bonus's terms to see how much you must bet before you can withdraw, and how much an average player loses doing it.

Bonus terms
Bonus you receive100
Total you must bet7,000
Number of bets7,000
Average loss while wagering280

On average this bonus costs you money: an average player ends with about 0 of the 100 deposited.

The formula

  1. Bonus = the lower of deposit × match % and the maximum bonus.
  2. Wagering base = the bonus, or deposit + bonus, as the terms say.
  3. Total to bet = base × wagering requirement ÷ game contribution.
  4. Average loss = total to bet × (100% − RTP).
  5. Expected balance at the end = deposit + bonus − average loss.

Where to find the numbers

  • Match %, maximum bonus, wagering and maximum bet: the casino’s bonus terms.
  • Contribution: usually 100% for slots and 0–10% for table and live games.
  • RTP: in the game’s information screen. It can differ between casinos for the same slot.

These are long-run averages. Real sessions vary: many players lose the whole balance before finishing the wagering, and a few win more. A bonus is never free money.
