KYC means “know your customer”: the identity checks that casinos run to confirm your age and identity and to meet anti-money-laundering rules. We found no casino in our data that says it never asks for ID. Wherever we have a casino’s KYC terms, it can ask for documents before a withdrawal, above a set amount, or at any time.
So a “no KYC casino” usually means you can sign up and deposit, often in crypto, without sending documents. The check comes later, typically when you try to withdraw. That is the worst moment to find out you cannot pass it.
What KYC checks are for
- Age. To keep minors out of real money gambling.
- Identity. To make sure each account belongs to one real person, and that people do not open several accounts for extra bonuses.
- Payment ownership. To confirm the card, wallet or bank account is yours, which protects against stolen cards and chargeback fraud.
- Money laundering. To ask where larger sums come from. Licensing rules generally require such checks.
- Location. To confirm you do not live in a country the casino has restricted.
What “no KYC” usually means in practice
| Stage | ID usually needed? | Example from our data |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-up | Often not; an email address is enough | Common across the casinos in our database |
| Deposit | Often not, especially with crypto | Luckygem accepts ten cryptocurrencies but still checks ID before payouts (LCB) |
| First withdrawal | Usually yes | AvoCasino requires verification before withdrawing (AskGamblers) |
| Larger amounts | Yes, above stated thresholds | GreatSlots from EUR/USD 5,000; NikaCasino above EUR 1,250 |
| Any time | Reserved in the terms | Dracula Casino’s terms allow requests at any time |
How we chose
We took the casinos in our database whose ID-check policy is stated in their own terms or by a named review site, such as LCB (lcb.org) or AskGamblers. We include casinos with and without a confirmed licence, so you can see that the rules are similar either way. Licence status comes from our offshore casino licence audit.
We have not opened accounts or sent documents to any of these casinos, so the details are what the sources state, not what we experienced. Our process is described in how we review.
Which casinos ask for ID, and what they ask for
| Casino | What our sources say about ID checks | Licence status | Our position |
|---|---|---|---|
| Luckygem | ID, proof of address, proof of payment method, selfie with ID, phone check; stated at 0 to 24 hours (LCB) | Valid | Not yet tested |
| Dazard | Government ID, proof of address, proof of payment and deposit, selfie; possibly a video or phone check (LCB) | Valid | Not yet tested |
| GreatSlots | Extra checks from EUR/USD 5,000 in single or combined deposits or withdrawals, or at random; may cover ID, proof of residence or selfies (casino terms, 5.4) | Valid | Not yet tested |
| NikaCasino | Withdrawals above EUR 1,250 may trigger extra checks, to be completed within 48 hours (LCB) | Valid | Not yet tested |
| AvoCasino | Verification must be completed before withdrawing (AskGamblers) | Valid | Not yet tested |
| Crownslots | ID checks may take up to 30 business days (LCB) | Valid | Not yet tested |
| PlayFina | AskGamblers complaints describe repeated document requests before withdrawals | Valid | Not yet tested |
| Dracula Casino | Documents may be requested at the first withdrawal and at any time; payments may be restricted until verified (casino terms) | Valid | We do not recommend |
| SpinAlto | ID, address, payment ownership, selfie, possibly video; winnings may be confiscated if documents are not sent within 40 days (LCB) | Claims Anjouan; not in the register | We do not recommend |
| Lizaro | Certified ID, proof of residence, proof of payment method, transaction history; may be requested before a withdrawal (casino terms, section 5) | No licence found | We do not recommend |
| Zizobet | ID, address, payment ownership; documents must be in Latin or Cyrillic script, or a video check is needed (LCB) | Curaçao claim, not checked | We do not recommend |
| Velobet | ID, address, payment ownership and video verification (LCB) | Curaçao claim, not checked | We do not recommend |
The pattern is the same across licensed and unlicensed casinos: a photo ID, proof of address and proof that the payment method is yours, often with a selfie or a video call as well.
Does crypto mean no KYC?
No. Crypto changes how you pay, not what the casino may ask. Luckygem accepts ten cryptocurrencies, and LCB says it still asks for ID, proof of address, a selfie and a phone check. Crypto has its own risks too. Transactions are recorded on a public blockchain, a payment sent to the wrong address cannot be reversed, and the value of your balance can change between deposit and withdrawal.
Risks at casinos that advertise no KYC
- “No KYC” in an advert means no KYC at sign-up. It is not a promise that you can withdraw without documents.
- Deadlines with penalties. At SpinAlto, according to LCB, winnings may be confiscated if documents are not supplied within 40 days of the request.
- Verification loops. Trustpilot reviewers of DaytonaSpin report repeated document rejections, and AskGamblers complaints about PlayFina describe repeated requests. Delays like these are a common reason for withdrawal complaints.
- No regulator to turn to. A casino without a licence we could find, such as Lizaro, leaves you with no regulator to complain to if a check is used to hold your money.
- Names must match. Your account, documents and payment method must all be in your name. Using someone else’s documents or card breaks the terms and can cost you the whole balance.
How to make a check go smoothly
- Read the KYC section of the terms before you deposit, so you know which documents and deadlines apply.
- Register with your real name, date of birth and address, exactly as they appear on your documents.
- Use a payment method in your own name, and keep a statement or screenshot that shows it.
- Upload clear, uncropped copies early, before you request a withdrawal.
- Keep copies of everything you send and every reply you get.
Age checks are not optional, and we do not give advice on avoiding ID or age checks. Gambling is for adults aged 18 and over, or older where local law says so. If you want to keep control of your play, set deposit and time limits before you start. Help is on our responsible gambling page.
FAQ
Is there a casino with no KYC at all?
Not in our data. Every casino whose KYC terms we have can ask for ID before or during withdrawals. Some state that they may ask at any time.
When do casinos usually ask for ID?
Most often at the first withdrawal. Some set amounts: GreatSlots from EUR/USD 5,000 and NikaCasino above EUR 1,250. Others, such as Dracula Casino, reserve the right to ask at any time.
Does paying with crypto mean no ID check?
No. Luckygem accepts ten cryptocurrencies, and LCB says it still asks for ID, proof of address, a selfie and a phone check.
Why would a casino ask for a selfie or a video call?
To match the person holding the account with the ID document. Dazard, Luckygem, Velobet and Zizobet all mention a selfie or video step, according to LCB.
Are no KYC casinos legal?
That depends on where you live and on the casino’s licence. A casino that skips checks entirely would usually be outside the rules of any licence we know of, which is one reason to treat a “no KYC” promise with caution.
Is it safe to send my documents to a casino?
Send them only through the casino’s own upload page or official support address, never through links in unsolicited messages. Check the licence in the register first, so you know who is holding your data.
Gambling is entertainment, not a way to make money. Set a deposit limit before you play. If you have self-excluded in your country, an offshore casino will not honour it, so please do not use one to get around it.
